Now 'ohne Wörter' is said too much; in addition to an apparently unpretentious musicality and an occasionally rattling but captivating meter, we naturally find an interesting verbal content in Verlaine's work - the title of the collection probably indicates that the poems, although studied and masterfully designed, are fundamentally simple, like a hummed song. The bundle exudes an air of dandyesque nonchalance, which undoubtedly took a lot of effort and time to create.'
